Unforgettable experience with stunning views
The entire stay was magical, especially with the serene garden views and the deeply relaxing atmosphere of the temple. The on-site onsen was a real highlight, offering a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring Koyasan. the meals provided—both dinner and breakfast—were Michelin-level, lovingly prepared and served by the monks. It's worth noting, however, that the 9 PM curfew limited our after-dinner explorations of the surrounding area.

sojiin hotel was such an amazin experience! the location is super chill, and the rooms are spacious with a beautiful garden view. dinner and breakfast were like a gourmet journey, all vegan and made with love by the monks. joining the morning prayers was a highlight, felt really special. the shared bathing area looked nice and inviting, i just didn't get around to trying it out.
the futons were a bit too thin for my taste, made it kinda hard to sleep well. also, language barriers made it tough at times, like finding the dining room was confusing.

Staying at Sojiin was truly memorable. I particularly enjoyed the delicious Shojin Ryori meals served in the cozy dining area. Both breakfast and dinner showcased intricate vegan dishes that were beautifully presented. The setting provided stunning views of the garden, adding to the calming atmosphere. The shared bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, resembling a traditional onsen experience. The meditation session led by the monks was enlightening and very informative, adding depth to my visit. One downside was the 9 PM curfew, which limited evening explorations. I wished for a bit more comfort in the futon bedding, as it felt a bit thin. These aspects slightly detracted from my overall comfort but did not overshadow the unique experience.

More pros than cons, but still…
Great atmosphere with stunning garden views and exceptional meals. The morning ceremony was enlightening and added a unique touch to our visit.
The experience felt somewhat limited in monk interaction. it seemed less immersive than expected for the price.

communal public bath, stunning garden views, unique morning ceremony
The curfew at 9 PM feels overly restrictive!!! It limits evening explorations and the chance to enjoy the surroundings. The pillow could use improvement for a better night's sleep!!! finding the dining area can be confusing at times!!!
